In my post on Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem I touched on the subject of representations of mental illness and insanity in gaming, and it is something that I'd like to look at again at some point. In the mean time I'd like to point out this post at re/action (via fuckyeahferafestiva), specifically relating to tabletop games and really worth reading.
I haven't played the most recent iteration of World of Darkness, the one that's being talked about here, but it had similar rule sets when I was playing it as a teenager - depressingly enough at that time White Wolf seemed to be one of the more sophisticated and sympathetic systems as well.
